Lucas Rempel
Title: Student @UBC medical school
Lucas is a a fifth-year undergraduate student at UBC, studying Honours Integrated Sciences. He has been involved in the lab since 2018. Currently, he assists Dr. Marine Theret in a number of projects:
1. Examining the role of skeletal muscle infiltrating eosinophils in the pathology of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
2. Elucidating a potential role of TAK1 signaling in mesenchymal stromal cells.
He is also helping Dr. Elena Groppa finish her project on the role of Angiopoietin-1 in vascular remodelling during skeletal muscle and cardiac regeneration. In his spare time, Lucas enjoys looking for new running routes around Vancouver, hiking BC mountains and skiing on the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb.
