Coping and Pasting here a Tweet from Ben Paylor one of the organizer of this awesome event:

"Our 4th annual StemCellTalks is hosted at UBC today! 100 keen grade 11/12 students from 34 Vancouver schools over 30 PhD and Postdoc volunteers and 8 faculty experts holed up for a day of Debates and lectures about Stem cell science and ethics."

Many Thanks to Ben Paylor for organizing this amazing event for High School Students. And Many Thanks To Robert Judson, Christine Eisner, Varoon Mathur, Claudia Hopkins, Cindy Ding, and the rest of the Rossi Lab for volunteering their time today.

Fun debate about ES vs iPS between Dr Fabio Rossi and Dr Kevin Gregory-Evans.

For eight months, Claudia will be joining the Rossi Lab to illustrate scientific research and findings. These illustrations will be used as a communicative tool for publications, grants, and presentations to enhance the understanding of complex biological systems.

From May until August Varoon will join the Rossi lab as a Centre for Blood Research Undergraduate fellow under the guidance of Dr. Coral Ann Lewis in the Dr Rossi's Lab!

During the Summer months Cindy, under the guidance of Dr. Coral Ann Lewis,  will be investigating the role of microglia and blood-derived macrophages in the development and progression of EAE, the murine model of multiple sclerosis. By identifying the changes in gene expression of infiltrating macrophages and microglia that occur between peak and recovery stages of disease, we hope to find new targets for therapeutic intervention in the progression of myelin and neuronal degeneration.
